  1. Hi Ms. Bennet,

My comment is actually a question since I could not figure out how to email you (sorry about that). I really like your reviews on the site, and given that you keep the blog family friendly I was wondering about the content in The Pallisers and The Duchess of Duke Street.

They seem like pretty tame shows by today's standards and not that objectionable, but I just wanted your quick opinions on them before I buy them as far as mature content is concerned. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated, please let me know about them and what kind of audiences they are aimed at, thanks.

    1. Hi Jeremy,
It's been a while since I've seen both shows so this is off the top of my head, but from what I remember, I would say they're both about TV-PG, but more on the mild side of TV-PG. By today's standards, both are VERY tame, so I would say if you're used to watching shows that are TV-PG (some suggestive scenes/dialogue, but nothing very graphic), then you should be fine. I would even venture to say that both shows would be TV-G except for those couple of scenes that would bump up the rating to TV-PG.

I do recommend both shows (though some parts of The Pallisers were a little slow moving). For shows that were in the 70s, they are very good.

If you have any more questions, feel free to leave another comment and I'll answer any more questions as best as I can.

    2. Oh, as far as audiences that they are aimed at, I would say that both are shows that adults would be more interested than kids, although I wouldn't say that the reason is content. There are some parts of The Pallisers, for example, that are slow moving (parliament scenes, political scenes, etc.), which might cause kids to lose interest. I don't have any young siblings, so I'm taking a guess on this one.

Thanks for the replies. That was pretty much what I thought but just wanted to make sure. Much appreciated and keep up the great work on this blog.

  3. This is very educational content and written well for a change. It's nice to see that some people still understand how to write a quality post.
